Students at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School are being greeted by a new face this year. The new Head of School Mary L. Sherry is welcoming them with “Aloha!”
Sherry has 19 years of experience serving as a teacher, resource teacher, assistant principal and principal in Hawaii and Florida. She earned her B.A. in Education and her M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
“Along with the faculty and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Holy Cross by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners,” says Sherry. “We will continue to focus on character education initiatives; 21st Century skills; fostering a nurturing, safe environment for students; use of data to inform/drive instruction; and provide exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.”
Holy Cross Regional Catholic School is the oldest continuously operating school in the region, and Sherry is the sixth lay head of school. Founded in 1879, Holy Cross Regional Catholic School is a fully accredited college preparatory school for students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Holy Cross has passed the rigorous accreditation requirements of both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and School Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI).
