"Timmy Tate's Tater Troubles"

Galactic Book Launch Scheduled for Sept. 20 in Downtown Lynchburg

By Deirdre Serio September 19, 2014
Local author Mike Roach, who goes by the nom de plume "Mr. Roach," recently released a children's book entitled "Timmy Tate's Tater Troubles." Mr. Roach's first published book, this is an historical revision of the invention of the Tater Tot, which made its debut in 1953.

In the book, with an alternate title for girls - "Polly Paters' Potato Plan" - Timmy's friend Polly tricks him into trying different vegetables in the form of Tots.

The book is available at Amazon.com and other book stores. The "Galactic Book Launch" is scheduled for Sat., Sept. 20, at 9:30 a.m. in The White Hart Cafe at 1208 Main St., Lynchburg.

Mr. Roach lives with his family in the Hill City, but grew up in the flat farmland of rural Whitehouse, Ohio. He has always loved word play, accents, and silly stories that make him laugh while also teaching a lesson. He hopes that this will be the first of many books to come.

Mr. Roach can be found on Racebook and his website will soon be up and running. To arrange for book readings, book signings or other events, he can be reached at 434-401-7698.
