United Way of Central Virginia, along with Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and other community partners, will be collecting non-perishable items during the month of October. The collection of these items will benefit 11 area non-profits that support hunger relief: Bedford Christian Ministries, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, DAWN, Lake Christian Ministries, Lynchburg Community Action Group, Missionary Food Bank, Park View Community Mission, Piedmont Community Impact, REAP, Rivermont Area Food Pantry and Salvation Army. Please deliver items to United Way of Central Virginia, 1010 Miller Park Square, or schecule a barrel to be placed at your location for collections.
