Focus on Fitness

Fall is a great time to focus on fitness in your family. Running or walking together are great ways to have fun with the family. This weekend's events include: John A. Stephenson Memorial Youth Run on Oct. 18 at 9 a.m. in Riverside Park and Habitat for Humanity Run/Walk on Oct. 18 at 9 a.m. at Sweet Briar College. Coming up later this month: the I Am Woman 5K for girls and women only on Oct. 25 at 8 a.m. at the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center. Register now for November events. You'll find plenty of walkers and runners every day on the paved Blackwater Creek Trail and other local trails. So lace up your shoes and run or walk your way to family fitness this month.
