I Am Woman 5K, K9 Cancer Walk and Zombie Run

Fall is a great time to focus on fitness in your family. Running or walking together are great ways to have fun with the family. This weekend, there's a special run/walk event is for women and girls only and the Run For Your Life Zombie Run at HumanKind (formerly Presbyterian Homes). The I Am Woman 5K for girls and women only will be held Oct. 25 at 8 a.m. at the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center. The k9 Cancer Walk will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Johnson's Orchard in Bedford. The Run For Your Life Zombie Run takes place at HumanKind campus on Oct. 26 at 6:00 p.m. Register now for November events, including fun turkey trot runs: Amherst County Turkey Trot on Nov. 15, Girls on the Run of Central Virginia 5K at Sweet Briar College on Nov. 22, HumanKind Turkey Trot in Lynchburg and Altavista Giblet Jog on Thanksgiving Day. You'll find plenty of walkers and runners every day on the paved Blackwater Creek Trail and other local trails. So lace up your shoes and run or walk your way to family fitness this month.
