Flooding Causes Damage at T.C. Miller Elementary School

Books and Art Supplies Needed

By Sandy Wallace February 27, 2015
T.C. Miller Elementary School needs your help. The school was affected by flooding last weekend caused by a broken heating coil in a classroom on the fourth floor, which soaked through to the library and art room in lower floors. School custodians discovered the flooding when they arrived on Sunday, February 22 to shovel snow. Principal Dr. Amy Huskin, teachers, parents and members of the community have been hard at work all week cleaning up the mess. The biggest challenge for the school at this time is replacing all of the books and art supplies lost in the flooding. There will be discussion about the best ways to help with funding at the upcoming T.C. Miller PTO meeting, which will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the school. If you can help in any way, including donations of art supplies or new or gently used books, please contact the T.C. Miller office at 434-515-5300.
