Last summer, MG Productions teamed up with Lynch's Landing to bring Friday Cheers back to the Riverfront. This year, MG is independently bringing you its own Friday evening event, Cheers to the Weekend, every Friday beginning June 30th through August 18th. MG Productions is comprised of a creative team of individuals, whose collective goal is to promote arts and culture in our community through innovative event experiences.
This year's Cheers season will take place once again on the riverfront at Riverfront Park on Jefferson Street in downtown Lynchburg. The season line-up is comprised of a diverse range of musical entertainment ranging from 80's to funk, country and pop -- there is sure to be something for everyone. General admission to the event is $5 per person. The event is open to all ages. Ages 21 and over will be carded for alcohol and MUST wear a bracelet at all times.
Band line-up: June 30 - That 80's Show, July 7 - Tony Camm & the Funk All Stars, July 14 - Uptown Band, July 21 - Rutledge, July 28 - Dragonfly, August 4 - The Worx, August 11 - The House Band of VA, and August 18 - Funky Bone.
In addition to stellar musical entertainment, this year's event will also offer local crafter and food vendors, a new Kids Zone, art installations, and a photo booth. Of course, beer and wine will be served to patrons who are 21+, along with specialty beverages such as our exclusive Fizzy Friday (made with champagne) and the Cranberry Cheers. Additionally, we will be offering flights of beer, where you can sample five for one ticket. Beer and wine tickets will be $5, and specialty drinks and flights will be offered for $8.
