Register Now for the Healthy Kids Fall Running Series

Lynchburg is a runner-friendly city, with many races and trails suitable for children and families to enjoy. Registration is open for the Healthy Kids Running Series, a five week running series for kids age 2 through eighth grade. The races are held from 3:30-4:30 PM on Sunday afternoons at Peaks View Park from Sept. 23 - Oct. 21 (change in original dates due to inclement weather on Sept. 16).

The Healthy Kids Running Series, which was created by Founder and President of Pattison Sports Group Jeff Long, takes place in over 200 locations across the country. Participating in the series provides kids with a positive, educational, and fun experience in the world of running.

The $35 registration fee includes participation in all five races,the Healthy Kids Running Series T-Shirt, race bibs, a sponsor race bag, and a medal each participant receives at the end of the five-week program. Top point scorers also receive a trophy based on point totals. Runners can also register for individual races.

The Healthy Kids Running Series is separated into the following six age group divisions:

Pre-K ages 2-3 years old will run 50 yard dash

Pre-K ages 4-5 years old will run 75 yard dash

Grades K-1 will run 1/4 mile

Grades 2-3 will run 1/2 mile

Grades 4-5 will run 1 mile

Grades 7-9 will run 1 mile

Register online or print off a registration form to mail and kick of spring with the Healthy Kids Running Series.
