Lynchburg Visitor Center Sponsors History Walking Tours

The Office of Economic Development & Tourism (OEDT) for the City of Lynchburg announced in a press release that the Lynchburg Visitor Center will host a series of free guided History Walking Tours during November and December.

The tours will take place on the four Saturday afternoons in November and December, beginning at 2 PM. Each tour is limited to 20 patrons. The walking tours fill up quickly and advance reservations are required. Participants in the tours are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes. The tours include walking up and down hills and steps. Tours are subject to change based on weather. Reserve your spot by calling the Visitor Center at (434) 485-7290.

On Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, Lynchburg, the Center of Arts & Culture Walking Tour will begin at the Lynchburg Visitor Center with a focus on Lynchburg's arts and entertainment history. On December 8 and December 15, Holiday Traditions Walking Tour will begin at the corner of 5th and Madison, highlighting the fine homes of Garland Hill and holiday traditions of years past. Garland Hill, one of Lynchburg's original seven hills, is designated a Lynchburg Historic District, Virginia Historic Landmark, and National Register of Historic Places.
