Summer camp season is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to share the best summer camps happening here in the Leavenworth area. Whether your kids love sports, theater, art, STEM, or outdoor exploration, there’s a camp waiting to fill their summer with friends and fun.
The 2026 Lynchburg Macaroni KID Summer Camp Guide includes these featured camps:
Amazement Square
Summer WonderCamps offer a summer of discovery, creativity, and fun! WonderCamp Junior 1/2 Day camps are for 3-5 Year Olds. Full day camps include: WonderCamp Explorer for completed K - 2nd graders, and WonderCamp Adventurer for completed 3rd - 5th graders. Camps run Monday to Friday beginning June 1st through August 7th with no camps the week of July 4th. Different camp levels are offered each week.

Dance Music Creations Summer Camp is open to campers ages 4 and older. Each summer camp features a unique theme with dance, games, and creative activities designed to build confidence, spark imagination, and keep kids moving and smiling. Themed half-day camps run Monday through Thursday mornings beginning in mid-June through late July.

Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Camp is open to non-Girl Scouts; sign-up and try out Girl Scouting for FREE at camp this summer. Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Camp offers opportunities to explore the out-of-doors while learning new skills and making friends. In Lynchburg, Girl Scout overnight camp dates are June 14-19 for rising 2nd - 12th graders. Day camp dates for rising 1st and 2nd graders are June 15-19.

Hill City AquaZoo Summer Camp is open to campers ages 6-12. Don't miss out on the wildest summer camp in town! We are hosting four, fun-filled weeks of learning with incredible animals, awesome activities and more! Camp weeks are in June and July.

Jacobs Run Equestrian Center Summer Camp 2026 is open to campers ages 4 through high school. Half-day camp dates are June 8-12, June 15-19, June 22-26, and June 29 - July 3. All camp weeks include: safety around horses, basic horsemanship, a daily riding lesson, bathing, grooming, breeds of horses, crafts and more.

James River Association Summer Camp is open to campers ages 5-17. Half-day camp dates for ages 5-8 are June 15-18 and June 29 - July 2. Half-day camp dates for ages 9-11 are July 6-10 and July 27-31. Full day camp dates for ages 9-11 are June 22-26. Full day camp dates for ages 12-15 are July 20-24 and Aug. 3-7. Full day camp dates for ages 14-17 are July 13-17.

Welcome to Lynchburg Macaroni Kid! I've lived in Lynchburg for many years and love it here. I'm mom to five young adults who now have families of their own. We stay busy with kid activities and love spending time outdoors. When it's time for a road trip, we're usually headed to the beach, the Blue Ridge Mountains or out of state to visit family. At home, you'll find me in the garden or at the computer, adding great local events to the Lynchburg Macaroni Kid calendar.
