Fall festival season in Central Virginia starts in early September and continues through October into early November. Some local fall festivals are primarily for adults, but many also offer fun kids' activities.
This is part 1 of our October events guide, covering Oct. 1-18, 2026!
Here's part 2, covering Oct. 19-31, 2026: Oct. 19-31, 2026 Lynchburg and Central Virginia Fall Festivals and Fun
**During fall festival season, weekends are very busy in our area. Since our October event content exceeds the permitted character count (which happens every year), we have split our October event guide into two articles: one with only Oct. 1-18 events and one with only Oct. 19-31 events. Our weekly and weekend event guides will hold the most up-to-date event listings, including recurring events.**
*Please feel free to share this event guide with family and friends. However, please do not just cut and paste the events without a link to our website as this is a copyright infringement. Thanks in advance for adhering to this guideline.**
Here are the top October festivals and fun events for your family to check out. Some of the festivals have multiple dates. Let Lynchburg Macaroni Kid help you Find Your Family Fun® this fall in Central Virginia!
We add events as we receive information, so check back for updates!
