Welcome to Imagination Rising, an Indoor Play Space in Madison Heights

Our mission is to nurture children’s imaginations by creating a fun space for creative play

Imagination Rising has come to Madison Heights! Our intimate, creative indoor play space for families with young children opened our doors in May 2026 with a mission to nurture children’s imaginations by creating a safe, joyful space for creative, unplugged play- where little minds can wander, wonder, and grow.

I am Tara Woods, the proud owner of Imagination Rising, or what many of our little ones are calling the play place. I wear many hats—wife, mother of three teenagers, elementary school teacher, and now business owner. I deeply value imaginative play and believe it is one of the most important ways children learn about themselves and the world around them.

Nothing brings me more joy than watching children and their caregivers engage in pretend play, building connections, creating memories, and sharing in the magic of childhood.

Every visit is a new adventure! Children are invited to explore a variety of hands-on play areas where they can build, create, pretend, and discover at their own pace. Little engineers can design and construct with our wooden train sets, building blocks, LEGO® bricks, and Magna-Tiles. Future paleontologists can dig into imaginative dinosaur adventures, while car enthusiasts can race and explore with our collection of toy vehicles.

Our dramatic play areas encourage children to step into everyday roles as they care for babies, prepare meals in the play kitchen, shop at the farmer's market, serve sweet treats in the ice cream shop and bakery, or examine patients in the doctor's office. These open-ended experiences help develop creativity, language, social skills, and confidence.

Children can also enjoy sensory-rich experiences in our indoor sandbox, gather for pretend meals at the picnic table, and discover countless opportunities for imaginative play throughout the space. Whether your child loves building towering creations, caring for others, creating stories, or simply exploring something new, there's always something exciting waiting to spark their curiosity and imagination.

To all families caring for young children, I encourage you to come and experience Imagination Rising for yourselves. I hope from the moment you step through the doors, you will feel right at home. I look forward to meeting you!

Warmly,
Tara Woods
