Join OCC and the Friends of the Old City Cemetery for the 2025 Wreaths Across America ceremony — a powerful and heartfelt tradition to Remember, Honor, and Teach. Together, we will lay sponsored balsam wreaths on the graves of our nation’s fallen heroes.

The Old City Cemetery is the final resting place for approximately 2,475 veterans, with graves dating from the Revolutionary War through the Iran Conflict — a remarkable and sacred piece of American history right here in Lynchburg.
We need your help to reach our goal of honoring every veteran laid to rest. Each wreath sponsorship is just $17, and you can make an even greater impact by encouraging your group, school, church, or organization to sponsor multiple wreaths.

Each wreath not only honors a veteran with a live balsam tribute but also supports Wreaths Across America’s mission year-round.

This event is free and open to the public. The ceremony starts promptly at noon. Seating is limited. Those with limited mobility are encouraged to bring a folding chair.
