Altavista on Track is pleased to announce that the 16th annual Downtown Scarecrow Stroll will occur from Wednesday, October 1 to Friday, October 31 in downtown Altavista. This family-friendly event is designed to increase foot traffic downtown, give additional exposure to local businesses, and provide a safe and fun way for families to get active outside.
Businesses who would like to enter a scarecrow in this year’s event can fill out an application online. This is a free event for businesses. Applications must be submitted by September 30 and scarecrows must be set up by October 1. While AOT promotes businesses in Downtown Altavista, we welcome all businesses to participate to bring our community together.
The Scarecrow Stroll will run from October 1 - October 31, and residents and visitors are invited to stroll through the downtown district and vote for their favorite scarecrows.
Voting will start at the AOT Rivertown Fest on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
