Disc golf at Peaks View Park

Enjoy fun times with your teens, 'tweens, and littles!

By Sandy Wallace August 19, 2022

Are you looking for something different to do with your teens or 'tweens? Peaks View Park offers an 18 hole disc golf course. Park at the Wiggington Road parking lot and you'll be at the top of the course. The course winds through the park and all holes are par 3.

The holes are actually metal cages on poles with chains through which you try to throw the disc. Disc Golf discs, which can be purchased at Play It Again Sports in Forest, Walmart, and other retailers, are smaller than regular frisbees.

Watch out for the water trap and the trees. If your disc lands in a tree, you can sometimes use another disc to bring it down. Teens love disc golfing and so will you.

When you're done playing disc golf, head to the playground or the new bicycle pump track, located near the tennis courts! There are also baseball, softball and soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, mountain bike trails, hiking and biking trails.

The playground at the top of the park (Wiggington Road entrance) is more suited to older kids, while the littles will enjoy the playground at the bottom of the park (Ardmore Drive entrance).

If you really enjoyed your disc golf challenge, check out some of the other local disc golf courses. Some favorites are located at Sandusky Park, 5805 Rhonda Road, Lynchburg; New London Tech Trails, 1536 Meade Road, Forest; and Falling Creek Park, 1257 County Farm Road, Bedford.
