Splash into Summer with Water Fun

Nothing says summer like water fun. Whether you're at the beach, lake, pool, water park or your own backyard, splash into summer with your family. 

In Lynchburg, the Sprayground at Riverside Park and the fountain at Riverfront Park are open daily from early May until the end of September. Miller Park Pool is open weekends starting Memorial Day weekend and is open daily from June 9 through August 12. Daily admission is $3 for ages 16 and up, $2 for ages 3-15, and free for ages 2 and under. Season passes are available at the Miller Center for individuals and families. 

Any day is a good day to enjoy winter fun in the middle of summer at Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, Snowflex offers cool fun with skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing for all ages all year long. Check out Snowflex and cool down on hot summer days. Snowflex is closed for maintenance the last two weeks in May. Day and overnight summer camps are also available.

Enjoy a day on the James River with James River Adventures, located at Riveredge Park, 150 Rocky Hill Road in Madison Heights. Exploring the James River by canoe, kayak, standup paddleboard, or tube. Operating hours are Thursday through Monday from 9 AM to 6 PM. Call ahead for shuttle service.

Thinking about a water weekend road trip? The beaches open for business Memorial Day Weekend at Smith Mountain Lake and Holliday Lake State Parks. Roanoke's Splash Valley offers water park fun at very reasonable prices. Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks are all within driving distance. 

Kids love playing in the water. Enjoy a little water fun at home too. Pick up a slip-n-slide or water sprinkler for backyard fun and have a blast together welcoming summer.
