The winter months are perfect for comfort foods. And there is nothing more comforting than a big pot of macaroni and cheese. Making it in the slow cooker is as easy as dumping a few ingredients in, turing it on and walking away.
A few months ago I discovered a recipe for Crockpot Macaroni & Cheese and, after a few attempts, perfected it. At least perfected it so every member of my family will eat it without complaining. That's a big accomplishment, right?
Here's a link to the original recipe and here's my version.

Ingredients
- 16 oz. box of elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp. butter
- About 3 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup of sour cream
- 1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup
- 1 cup milk (I use 1%)
- A little salt and pepper (honestly I've never measured it!)
Directions
Boil the macaroni until tender. Drain and mix with all the ingredients in the slow cooker. I really just dump it all together! Stir it up and viola! Set your slow cooker to low for about 3 hours (I do stir occasionally, too). When you’re done, you and your family will be enjoying a home-cooked, comfort dinner!
