There's nothing like a run through the sprinkler to cool down on a hot day. You and your kids can enjoy outdoor water fun every day at the Sprayground at Riverside Park, located on Rivermont Avenue in Lynchburg. Although there's a lot of construction taking place at the park, the Sprayground is open for the season daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Bring your towels and sunscreen and have a blast running through the water spouts as you dodge the dumping water buckets. Enjoy a picnic, take a hike on the Alpine Trail or play on the playground while you're at the park. Best of all - Sprayground is free. So make plans to enjoy Lynchburg's favorite outdoor water park this week.
Note - According to one of the city's maintenance employees, the spray pad at Riverfront Park on Jefferson Street in downtown Lynchburg isn't open yet. Parts have been ordered and will be installed soon. We'll notify you here and on our Facebook page once we know when the Riverfront Park spray pad is open for the season.
