Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes for 2023 in Central Virginia

Kids of all ages love fall family fun days at a pumpkin patch or corn maze. These pumpkin patches and corn mazes are all located within about an hour of Lynchburg.

NOTE - Some pumpkin patches and corn mazes have different hours on Halloween weekend, so check before you go!

Dark Leaf Farms is located at 2870 Mud Road in Concord. Dark Leaf Farms will open for the season on weekends starting Saturday, Sept. 30 through Halloween. Dark Leaf Farms hours for the season are: Fridays from 4 PM - 6 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM - 6 PM, and Sundays from 1 PM - 5 PM. Admission fees for children ages 2 and up includes all activities and 1 pumpkin large or smaller from the patch. Adult admission is 5.00. Activities include hay ride to corn maze and pumpkin patch, corn maze, big tunnel slide, pedal karts, bounce house, barrel rides, combine play area, corn pit and more! Dark Leaf Farms will hold their annual pumpkin festival on Oct. 7 from 10 AM - 6 PM.

Yoders' Farm is located at 1134 Browns Mill Road in Rustburg. Yoders' opens for the 2023 Fall Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch season on Sept. 23 and will be open Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 4. During October, Yoders' will also be open Tuesday through Thursday. Kids of all ages can enjoy the corn maze, pumpkin patch, duck races, farm animals, hayride, and more. Yoders' Farm is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 AM - 10 PM. In October, Yoders' is also open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 PM - 7 PM. Farm admission is free with a charge for the corn maze and hayride (hayride free for ages 5 and under accompanied by a paying adult). 

Layman Family Farms is located at 1815 Mountain View Church Road in Blue Ridge. Layman opens for the 2023 season on Sept. 16 and will be open Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 4. Most activities are included with admission. Each guest receives a wristband to use on special attractions. Pumpkins and Gemstone mining are available at additional cost. Layman Family Farms is open Saturdays from 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays from 11 AM - 6 PM. During October, Layman is also open on Wednesdays from 4 PM - 8:30 PM with limited activities. Saturday, Nov. 4 hours are from 10 AM - 5 PM. Admission is free for kids ages 2 and younger. Tickets are available online or pay at the gate.

Jeter Farm is located at 181 Blue Ridge Boulevard in Roanoke. Jeter Farm opens for the 2023 season on Sunday, Sept. 30 and will be open Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 29. All activities are included with admission fees. Admission includes the corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin train, barnyard zoo, jump pad, games, slides, and more. Hours are Saturdays from 9 AM - 6 PM and Sundays from 12 PM - 6 PM. Pumpkins are sold separately. Kids ages 2 and under are free.

Lottie J Farm is located at 4787 Patterson Mill Road in Bedford. Lottie J Farm will hold Open Farm Days for the 2023 season on Saturdays from Sept. 9 through Oct. 28. Open Farm hours are 10 AM - 4 PM. Come enjoy the Play Barn with swings, rope tunnel, corn pit, mini hay pyramid, small slide and 40 foot tube slide that takes you right into the pumpkin patch, as well as the barnyard with alpacas, goats, pigs, miniature donkeys and chickens. Shop in the farm store and enjoy fresh, homemade goodies from The Happy Hen food trailer. Sit back, take a big country breath and enjoy the gorgeous mountain views! 

Blue Ridge Mountain Maze has moved to Blue Toad Hard Cider, 462 Winery Lane in Roseland. In addition to the corn maze, you can also visit the farm animals, play on the giant slides, try out the apple slingshot, enjoy the outdoor play area, and check out the night maze. Blue Ridge Mountain Maze is for the 2023 season from Sept. 23 through Nov. 5. 2023 Day Maze hours are Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 23 through Oct. 1 are from 11 AM - 6 PM and Friday through Sunday from Oct. 6 through Nov. 5 from 11 AM - 6 PM. Day Maze Hours and Night Maze Hours vary during the season, so check the website for specific dates and times. 

Smith's Pumpkin Patch is located at 6204 Fort Avenue in Lynchburg. Smith's will be open for the 2023 season from Sept. 28 through Oct. 31. Hours are: Monday - Thursday from 3 PM - 8 PM; Friday - Saturday from 10 AM - 9 PM; and Sunday from 12 PM - 8 PM. You'll find pumpkins of all sizes for purchase, bounce houses, and many fun events for the kids at Smith's. There are also smaller pumpkins for painting, and small pumpkins and gourds for sale. 

Silver Creek & Seamans' Orchards is located at 5529 Crabtree Falls Highway in Tyro. The pumpkin patch is open Oct. 1-31 for pick-your-own pumpkins. Market hours are Sept. 9 - Nov. 5; Saturday from 10 AM - 4 PM and Sundays from 1 PM - 5 PM  There are also special PYO dates for apples at Silver Creek Orchard in Tyro on Sept. 9 and Oct. 14, at Seamans' Orchard in Roseland on Sept. 16 and 17, and Oct. 28 at Silver Creek & Seaman's Orchard.  The Apple Butter Festival will be held on Oct. 7 and Oct. 21 from 10 AM - 4:30 PM and will include pick-your-own pumpkins, corn maze, and more.
