Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes for 2024 in Central Virginia

Kids of all ages love fall family fun days at a pumpkin patch or corn maze. These pumpkin patches and corn mazes are all located within about an hour of Lynchburg.

NOTE - Some pumpkin patches and corn mazes have different hours on Halloween weekend, so check before you go!

Dark Leaf Farms is located at 2870 Mud Road in Concord. Dark Leaf Farms will open for the 2024 season on weekends starting Sept. 22 through Halloween. Dark Leaf Farms hours for the season are: Fridays from 4 PM - 6 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM - 6 PM, and Sundays from 1 PM - 5 PM. Admission fees for children ages 2 and up includes all activities and 1 pumpkin large or smaller from the patch. Adult admission is 5.00. Activities include hay ride to corn maze and pumpkin patch, corn maze, big tunnel slide, pedal karts, bounce house, barrel rides, combine play area, corn pit and more! 2024 events: Sunflower Festival Sept. 7 from 10 AM - 6 PM; Fall Festival Oct. 5 from 10 AM - 6 PM 

Yoders' Farm is located at 1134 Browns Mill Road in Rustburg. Yoders' opens for the 2024 season for the Fall Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch on Sept. 21 and will be open Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 26 and Saturday, Nov. 2, as well as Tuesday through Thursday in October. Kids of all ages can enjoy the corn maze, pumpkin patch, duck races, farm animals, hayride, and more. Yoders' Farm is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 AM - 10 PM. In October, Yoders' is also open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 PM - 7 PM. Farm admission is free with a charge for the corn maze and hayride (hayride free for ages 5 and under accompanied by a paying adult). 

Layman Family Farms is located at 1815 Mountain View Church Road in Blue Ridge. Layman opens for the 2024 season on Sept. 21 and will be open Saturdays/ Sundays through Nov. 2. Most activities are included with admission. Each guest receives a wristband to use on special attractions. Pumpkins and Gemstone mining are available at additional cost. Layman Family Farms is open Saturdays from 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays from 11 AM - 6 PM. During October, Layman is also open on Fridays for Flash Light Maize from 4 PM - 8 PM with limited activities. Weekday Farm Days are on Sept. 24, Oct. 14, and Oct. 28 from 10 AM - 1 PM. Admission is free for kids ages 2 and younger. Tickets are available online or pay at the gate.

Jeter Farm is located at 181 Blue Ridge Boulevard in Roanoke. Jeter Farm opens for the 2024 season on Sept. 28 and will be open Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 27. All activities are included with admission fees. Admission includes the corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin train, barnyard animals, jump pad, slides, games, and more. Hours are Saturdays from 9 AM - 6 PM and Sundays from 12 PM - 6 PM. Pumpkins are sold separately. Kids ages 2 and under are free.

Lottie J Farm is located at 4787 Patterson Mill Road in Bedford. Lottie J Farm will hold Open Farm Days for the 2024 season on Saturdays from Sept. 14 - Oct. 26 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Come enjoy the Play Barn with swings, rope tunnel, corn pit, mini hay pyramid, small slide and 40 foot tube slide, as well as the barnyard with alpacas, goats, pigs, miniature donkeys and chickens. Purchase a pumpkin and decorate it at the pumpkin decorating table. Shop in the farm store and enjoy fresh, homemade goodies. There will also be a food truck and vendors each week. Sit back, take a big country breath and enjoy the gorgeous mountain views! 

D-Day Corn Maze at Blue Ridge Lamb & Wool is located at 1030 Kayak Road in Bedford. New for 2024, the corn maze is located across from Johnson’s Orchard. D-Day Corn Maze opens for the 2024 season on Sept. 27 and will be open weekends through Nov. 3. The hours are Fridays from 4 PM - 6 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM - 6 PM, and Sundays from 12 PM - 6 PM. There are two trails through the maze: a short trail (0.4 mile) and a long (2.7 miles) trail. You can use your smart phone to navigate the maze. In addition to the corn maze, there is a farm animal petting zoo, and fun games: hay bale relay, roping challenge, and corn hole. You can also purchase animal feed, decorative pumpkins, or carving pumpkins. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are permitted for an additional $3 fee per dog. Kids ages 3 and under are free with paying adult. 

Blue Ridge Mountain Maze is located at Blue Toad Hard Cider, 462 Winery Lane in Roseland. In addition to the corn maze, you can also visit the farm animals, play on the giant slides, try out the apple slingshot, enjoy the outdoor play area, and check out the night maze. Blue Ridge Mountain Maze is open for the 2024 season from Sept. 21 - Nov. 3. Day Maze and Night Maze hours vary, so check the website for specific dates and times. Saturday and Sunday from Sept. 21-29; Friday - Sunday from Oct. 4 - Nov. 3 (Friday and Saturday Sept. 21/22 and Sept. 28/29 from 10 AM - 6 PM; Friday from 12 PM - 6 PM; Saturdays from 10 AM - 10 PM; and Sundays from 10 AM - 6 PM from Oct. 4 - Nov. 3 (closing at 5 PM on Nov. 3 only); and Monday, Oct. 14 from 10 AM - 6 PM) 

Wood Ridge Farm is located at 165 Old Ridge Road in Lovingston. Wood Ridge Farm is open for the 2024 season from Sept. 28 - Nov. 3: Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM until dark and Thursdays and Fridays from 3 PM until dark. Activities Include: Corn maze, Pick Your Own Pumpkin, Dig for Gold, Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe, 6 Pin Pumpkin Bowling, Pumpkin Painting, Pumpkin Checkers, Bouncy House, Ring Throw, Corn Filled Tire, Treasure Hunt, Farmyard Basketball, Hay Maze, Sandpit, Pumpkin/Straw tunnel, Hay Ride, Slingshot, Kiddies Slides & Swings, Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Corn Tossing, Build a Scarecrow, Trackless Train. All activities will be presented each weekend of the festival on Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM until dark. Limited activities will be available Thursdays and Fridays from 3 PM until dark.

Smith's Pumpkin Patch is located at 6204 Fort Avenue in Lynchburg. Smith's is open for the 2024 season from Sept. 26 through Oct. 31. Hours are: Monday - Thursday from 3 PM - 8 PM; Friday and Saturday from 10 AM - 8 PM; and Sunday from 12 PM - 8 PM. You'll find pumpkins of all sizes for purchase, bounce houses, and many fun events for the kids at Smith's. There are also smaller pumpkins for painting, and small pumpkins and gourds for sale. Children under the age of 1 year are admitted free with their parent or guardian.

Silver Creek & Seamans' Orchards is located at 5529 Crabtree Falls Highway in Tyro. The pumpkin patch is open for the 2024 season from Oct. 1-31 for pick-your-own pumpkins. Market hours are Sept. 2 - Nov. 2: Monday - Friday from 10 AM - 4 PM; Saturdays from 10:30 AM - 4 PM; and Sundays in October from 1 PM - 5 PM. There are also special PYO dates for apples at Silver Creek Orchard in Tyro on Sept. 14 and Oct. 12, at Seamans' Orchard in Roseland on Sept. 21. The Apple Butter Festival will be held on Oct. 5 and Oct. 19 from 10 AM - 4:30 PM and will include pick-your-own pumpkins, corn maze, and more.
