If you're looking for winter fun in any season, check out Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre, located above the Liberty University campus. You'll enjoy skiing, snowboarding and tubing on the special year-round surface that's easier than snow to enjoy! There's also an Olympic Trampoline and BagJump Airbag (advanced skills only, must pass a test to use). Both require additional fees. Any day is a good day to enjoy outdoor adventures and fun at Snowflex.

Here's some first-time visitor information from the Snowflex website:

Snowflex is the only year-round slope with 2 full inches of padding which ensures minimal impact when learning both the basics of riding and the more difficult freestyle maneuvers.

All first-time visitors who are skiing or snowboarding are encouraged to try the beginner slope immediately after check-in regardless of skill level. Due to the physical differences between Snowflex and actual snow, even the most skilled riders must adapt to the surface before proceeding to the intermediate/advanced slope.

Only expert skiers and snowboarders are allowed to use the slope’s freestyle features. Helmets are required when using our freestyle features.

Qualified instructors are on hand to provide lessons, if desired. Snowflex offers lessons for beginners to advanced.

When skiing or snowboarding, it is strongly recommended to wear long-sleeve shirts, long pants, and gloves. Windbreaker material is recommended.  There are no attire requirements for tubing, but closed-toed shoes are recommended.

Expect clothing to become damp due to the slope’s misting system.

In the Fall of 2013, Snowflex opened three new tubing runs that offer tubing options for everyone. On the nursery slope, the beginner Neveplast tubing run is 80 ft long and offers speeds upward of 10 mph. On the top slope, two Neveplast tubing runs - one at 350 ft long and the other at 50 0ft long - both offer speeds of around 30 mph. All of these tubing runs are a safe, fun, and inexpensive way to enjoy the scenic campus of Liberty University.

Tubing runs are constructed using a material called Neveplast. Snowflex uses a misting system most days to keep the tubing runs fast and fun. Due to changing weather conditions there may be days when the misting system is not in use to keep the runs at a safe speed.

All tubers using the new tubing park are required to be at least 36 inches or 5 years of age. If your child does not meet the height/age requirement, there is a smaller tubing run on the beginner hill for them to enjoy. (It is recommended that children be 2 years old to use the beginner hill, but it is up to parental discretion.) Snowflex offers a special price $5 for an hour for each sledder to use the small tubing run.

Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, a snowboarder, skiier or snowtuber, Snowflex offers cool fun on hot summer days, crispy fall days, cool springtime days, and on breezy winter days too.
