The Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade.
HKRS Fall Season is now open!!!

Time: 3pm
Location: Linkhorne Middle School
Who: 2 year olds to middle school age

Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run.

The Healthy Kids Running Series is separated into the following age group divisions:
Pre-K ages 2-3 years old will run 50 yard dash
Pre-K ages 4-5 years old will run 75 yard dash
Grades K-1 will run 1/4 mile
Grades 2-3 will run 1/2 mile
Grades 4-5 will run 1 mile
Grades 6-8 will run 1 mile
The Challenger race division is is an inclusive all age race for children with special needs who might need a little extra help on the course. Parents/aids/volunteers are able to be on course for this division only. Our Challenger race will not be timed, 75 yard distance and all children (boys and girls ages 2-18) will run together.

Volunteer opportunities are available for one or more races. This is a great way for high school and college students to earn service hours.
Many families enjoy staying active together. There are lots of ways to promote a healthy lifestyle with your kids and running is one of the easiest. Your child doesn't need to be a world-class athlete to enjoy running and you don't either. You'll find plenty of runners every day on the paved Blackwater Creek Trail and other local trails.
