The Peaks Retreat and Adventure Center is a 66-acre outdoor adventure and event facility located 30 minutes outside of Roanoke, Virginia. With scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Peaks is an ideal location for events ranging from youth camps to field trips to student and corporate retreats to weddings. On-site, the center features 8,500 square feet of indoor event space, a 1,000 square foot caterer’s kitchen, and on-site lodging for up to 80 guests. Amenities include an outdoor stage, amphitheater, hiking trails, zip-line, climbing-wall, low ropes course, swimming pool, pond, 9-hole disc golf course, sand volleyball court, basketball court and multiple large open fields. We love hosting groups of all kinds and are open year-round for group rentals.
This summer, we are also partnering with Bedford Outdoor Adventures to put on a week-long outdoor adventure camp for rising 6th-8th graders.

Local middle schoolers are invited to participate in the Bedford Outdoor Adventures camp June 3-7, 2024, at the Peaks Retreat & Adventure Center in Thaxton. The camp is designed to ignite the spirit of exploration and cultivate a love of the great outdoors.
