Batteau Launch is at 11 AM

Description

The Launch of the 37th James River Batteau Festival in 2022 will be on June 18 from Lynchburg. Batteaux will stop at Percival's Island and will be announced by Jeff Taylor. The batteau Lizzie Langley will fire a cannon at 11 AM to signal the start of the journey down-river.

The 8-day trip from Lynchburg to Maidens Landing stops at Galts Mill, Bent Creek, Wingina, Howardsville, Scottsville, Slate River, Cartersville, and ends on June 25 at Maidens Landing. 

The enjoyment we’ve had over the past three decades along with the attention we’ve brought to the James, the Batteaux, and this interesting period in our history, make the festival a truly unique event for everyone involved.
