Open House 2-4 PM on Dec. 6, Lighting Ceremony at 5 p.m. on Dec. 6, lights and tree displays remain on each evening through Dec. 31Description
Tour the historic hall of English Meadows and view over 50 Christmas trees and window displays created by residents, families and local businesses. Bring a donation of pet food or supplies to leave under our special tree sponsored by Friends of the Bedford Co. Animal Shelter to help the homeless dogs and cats spending Christmas at the shelter.
Come back after dark and take part in an annual Bedford Christmas tradition and drive through the Christmas light display at the Elks Home! Going on now for more than 65 years, the light display helped Bedford get the nickname “Christmas Capital of Virginia”. The venue is also open to guests to walk through and view the Christmas trees decorated by local businesses (parking is located behind the Home.) Admission is free, donations accepted.
The lights are turned on at dusk at about 5:30 p.m. and turn off at about 10 p.m. from Dec. 6 - Dec. 31.
