On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, when schools are in session, the LCS School Nutrition Team serves free meals to any child under the age of 18. Children do not have to be enrolled in Lynchburg City Schools to receive 6 free meals weekly (2 days worth of meals each day of distribution).
On Friday, Nov. 20, we will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving Feast with all the trimmings. Adults may purchase the meal for $5.00. We're delighted to have many community leaders joining us to help serve this special meal!
Thank you to Park View Community Mission who will have volunteers on hand Friday to distribute weekend food bags and boxes of fresh produce provided by the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
The menu includes:
Turkey and stuffing
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Green beans
Baked apples with cranberries
Dinner rolls
Ages 18 and under - free
Adults may purchase for $5 per meal, cash only.
Please join us curbside between 11 AM and 1 PM at one of our three middle schools or two high schools this Friday - E C Glass, Heritage High, Linkhorne Middle, Dunbar Middle or Sandusky Middle.
