Description
Soprano Christine Jobson and baritone Markel Reed perform a concert of vocal selections in collaboration with pianist Emily Yap Chua as part of Randolph College's celebration of Black History Month.
Both Jobson and Reed have been recent performers at the Metropolitan Opera in their GRAMMY award-winning productions of "Fire Shut Up in My Bones" and "Porgy and Bess," and have concertized extensively in the United States and abroad.
The program features a wide range of art song, musical theatre, and operatic vocal selections, from works of J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, and Johannes Brahms, to works by contemporary Black composers such as Noel da Costa, Shawn Okpebholo, and Dave Ragland.
Admission is free and open to the public.
