Description

The Launch of the 39th James River Batteau Festival in 2024 will be on June 15 from Lynchburg. Batteaux will begin arriving at Percival's Island around 9 AM and will be announced after the cannon is fired at 11 AM to signal the start of the journey down-river.

There will be James River Batteau Festival t-shirts on sale as well.

The 8-day trip from Lynchburg to Maidens Landing stops at Galts Mill, Bent Creek, Wingina, Howardsville, Scottsville, Slate River, Cartersville, and ends on June 22 at Maidens Landing. 

The enjoyment we’ve had over the past three decades along with the attention we’ve brought to the James, the Batteaux, and this interesting period in our history, make the festival a truly unique event for everyone involved.
