Experience life in the early 19th century with live music, blacksmiths, cooking, period camp, boats and much more.
This annual living history event focuses on two important parts of history from our area that had a profound influence on transportation and music in America: batteaux and banjos (batteaux are a historic type of boat).
Stop by anytime during this three-day event to see what it was like to live in the middle of the 19th century.
Schedule
Saturday, June 15: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday, June 16: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Monday, June 17: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (the batteaux will pass the park between this time frame)
FREE event admission
However, parking fee ($5/vehicle) or Virginia State Parks annual pass required.
Batteaux (boats) should pass the park on Monday, June 17th between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
