Beat the heat at Amazement Square and immerse yourself in the world of aviation in Aim High: Soaring with the Tuskegee Airmen! Enjoy all day exploration of the museum’s four floors for only $10 per person every Thursday in June and July! Select Thursdays include additional hands-on activities. Admission discount cannot be combined with any other discounts or offers. Programs at Amazement Square are included with admission. Programs at The Legacy Museum of African American History and Anne Spencer House and Garden Museum are free. -June 6th: Glider Design at Amazement Square (K-5th grade) o2:00pm-3:30pm oExplore one of the key components in flight: thrust! Design your own glider and see which will travel the farthest. -June 13th: Tuskegee Airmen History at The Legacy Activity Center (6th-8th grade) o2:00pm-3:30pm oExplore the extraordinary efforts of Tuskegee Airmen and discover African American contributions to WWII. Learn about the roles of heroic figures, the standards of aviation, and the battle for social change. Test your knowledge about this incredible history in a trivia game. -June 20th: Journey to Tuskegee at Anne Spencer House and Garden Museum o2:00pm-3:30pm oJoin us as we watch a short film Journey to Tuskegee, Featuring Black Aviators and Tuskegee Airmen, sharing history with young and old about the sacrifices made by black aviators like Chauncey Spencer Sr. and Dale White. There would be no Tuskegee Airmen, no Red Tails without Mr. Spencer and Mr. White. -June 27th: Careers in Aeronautics at Amazement Square (K-5th grade) o2:00pm-3:30pm oExplore the different roles and jobs of adults in aeronautics such as astronauts, pilots, mechanics, and engineers and then design your own uniform!
