Description

The historic Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler will celebrate its 50th year running on September 28, 2024. Join more than 3,000 runners on a historic course that has hosted participants from around the globe. The 10 mile run, 4+ mile run/walk, and Amazing Mile Children's Run invite men, women, and children of all ages and abilities to participate.

The festivities begin Thursday night with packet pick-up, continue Friday with the Amazing Mile Children’s Run, and a fun, family-friendly festival in downtown Lynchburg. On Saturday, thousands will take part in the 10 mile run and our 4+ mile run/walk.

The Lynchburg Road Runners Club, founded in 1973 to organize the Virginia 10 Miler, continues to own and organize the Moore & Giles 10 Miler and its associated events.

Thursday, Sept. 26
SPECIAL GUEST PRESENTATION: Olympic Gold Medalist Cole Hocker
6 - 7 p.m. at E.C. Glass High School Auditorium
A presentation for high school and collegiate athletes and the community.
Friday, Sept. 27
MORNING RUN
7 - 8 a.m. at Riverside Runners
3 mile shake out run on Rivermont Avenue. All are welcome.
Friday, Sept. 27
DOWNTOWN FAMILY FESTIVAL
4 - 7 p.m. at Amazement Square
Bring your family to our annual family festival downtown, part of the Amazing Mile celebration at Amazement Square. Face painting, food, and kid-friendly activities.
Saturday, Sept. 28
FINISH LINE CELEBRATION
8:30 - 11 a.m. at E.C. Glass High School
Join thousands for post-event food, live music, and our special awards presentation.
Saturday, Sept. 28
11TH MILE AFTER PARTY
At Three Roads Brewing
3 - 6 p.m.: Open house, social, age group awards, food trucks
6 - 9 p.m.: Full Moon Fever (Tom Petty tribute band)
Come enjoy our specialty Virginia 10 Miler: The 11th Mile Ale, available in cans or on tap, join us for a relaxing "11th mile" after the race! First 200 to purchase on draft will receive a commemorative Virginia 10 Miler pint glass.
