By Sandy Wallace November 11, 2018

If you're looking for indoor fun for kids of all ages, you don't have to travel far to find it. Amazement Square, 27 Ninth Street, is Lynchburg's children's museum and offers hands-on fun and learning for all ages. Amazement Square is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

At Amazement Square, you'll enjoy four floors and nine galleries of exhibitions. Some family favorites include: The Big Red Barn, where you can learn all about farm life; Shipwreck Cove, a special pirate themed area for children up to age 36 months; On the James, where you can float miniature batteaux down a model of the James River and play inside a real batteau; Imagination Studio, a hands-on art studio; and Amazement Tower, one of the tallest climbing structures in the nation which connects all four floors and includes a kid-sized zip line.

Your family will have an amazing time at Amazement Square. Check the website for information about annual memberships and birthday parties.
