Free Fishing Days are coming soon to your favorite fishing spot in Virginia!
June 6-8 have been designated as Free Fishing Days in Virginia for 2025. No fishing license of any kind will be required for rod and reel fishing in freshwater or saltwater, on these days. Plan some time to go fishing and boating; take the family fishing and boating or learn to fish and boat!
Here in the Lynchburg area, the fishing's great on the James River. Little ones really enjoy fishing from the dock at Ivy Creek Park. You can also fish at many of the parks in Amherst County and many of the Virginia State Parks.
