For many families, the scent of a live Christmas tree is the perfect touch to the holiday season. The sights, sounds, and smells of the holidays will bring a smile to all of our faces.
Here's a list of locations in Lynchburg and Central Virginia offering live Christmas trees in 2023. Websites and dates of operation are noted if available.

Bedford Evergreens Christmas Tree Farm, located at 1893 Robertson Road in Bedford, offers choose and cut Christmas trees. Bedford Evergreens will be open on Friday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 26 and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2-3 or until sold out during the 2023 season. Hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 10 AM - 5 PM and Sundays from 12 PM - 5 PM.

Dancing Hill Christmas Tree Farm, located at 1401 Dancing Hill Road in Bedford, will only be open for the 2023 season on Friday, Nov. 24 from 9 AM - 6 PM or until they sell out. They will likely sell out before the end of the day. The trees will be choose and cut your own. Dancing Hill will also have wreaths for sale and the shop will be open, plus their traditional free hot chocolate! In addition, they have a large antique sleigh in the field, as well as some other Christmas-related photo set ups, all perfect for great picture-taking opportunities.

Dave's Maine Wreaths and Trees, located beside Rookies, 16129 Forest Road in Forest, opens for the season on Friday, Nov. 24 and will remain open daily until all trees are sold, generally a few days before Christmas. The Timberlake Road location is permanently closed. This will be Dave's 34th season selling Christmas trees in the Lynchburg area. Dave's offers pre-cut Christmas trees, wreaths, bows, centerpieces, garland, memorial wreaths, and more. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9 AM - 9 PM and Sundays from 11 AM - 8 PM.
Davis Produce LLC, located at 13475 Wards Road in Lynchburg, will be getting 100 Christmas trees in on Monday from Elks Creek on Monday, Nov. 20. They will be setting the the trees up on Tuesday, Nov. 21. They will be able to wrap them and do a fresh cut on the trees. These trees will probably sell out quickly since this is the first time in a few years Davis has been able to get trees. Davis also sells a variety of Christmas candy. Davis Produce is open Monday thru Saturday from 10 AM - 6 PM.
Forest Lions Club operates a Christmas tree lot, located at 14956 Forest Road (beside Benjamin's Restaurant) in Forest. Forest Lions Club has been holding their annual Christmas Tree Sale since 1974, when the Club formed. The lot will be open for the 2023 season from Saturday, Nov. 25 for approximately 10-12 day, until all trees are sold. Forest Lions Club sale will continue daily until all trees are sold.
Update: Forest Lions Club has about 100 trees remaining. During the week they’re open from 11 AM - 7 PM.
Green Needles Christmas Tree Farm, located at 1175 Yew Tree Lane in Coleman Falls, offers both pre-cut and choose and cut Christmas Trees, wreaths, and roping. Green Needles opens for the season on Saturday, Nov. 18 and is open Fridays from 10 AM - 5:30 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM to 5:30 PM until they sell all of their trees. This has happened in one weekend in the past.

Saunders Brothers Christmas Tree Farm, located at 2717 Tye Brook Highway in Piney River, hasn't yet updated their information for the 2023 season. Saunders will announce dates for their their Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Farm on their social media once the trees arrive. In previous years, Saunders has sold trees starting the Friday after Thanksgiving and for three Saturdays in November and early December.
Update: Pre-cut white pine and fir Christmas trees are at the farm market. Saunders Brothers is open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM - 5 PM.
Smiths Pumpkin Patch, located at 6204 Fort Avenue in Lynchburg, hasn't yet updated their information for the 2023 season. In previous years, Smith's opened on Thanksgiving week and remained open daily until all trees were sold in mid-December. Smiths offers pre-cut Christmas trees, wreaths, and bows.
Update: Smiths will not be selling Christmas trees in 2023.
Virginia Garden Supply, located at 4614 Boonsboro Road in Lynchburg, offers locally cut Christmas trees. In addition, Virginia Garden Supply offers fresh wreaths, garlands, and poinsettias and has a Christmas shop filled with holiday decor. Christmas trees sales begin on Friday, Nov. 24. Virginia Garden Supply is open Monday through Saturday from 8 AM - 5:30 PM. In addition, they are open Sundays from 11 AM - 4 PM during the holiday season
