The roots of Lynchburg's history run deep in the Pierce Street Historic district, and the nonprofit Pierce Street Gateway exists to protect it, preserve it, and educate others about it. To enrich the lives of those residing nearby, they formed Pierce Street Community Garden, provide education programming in collaboration with other nonprofits, schools and institutions, and agencies, and work tirelessly to preserve the stories of the families that live and have lived there.
Moving away from a formal annual event, Pierce Street Gateway is purposely looking to include the community they serve in an revision of their signature Fall Event. Join as we all take to the street filled with vendors, heritage, music, food, history, sights, sounds, smells, and best of all, each other!
