Virginia State Parks offer outdoor fun to families and individuals at a reasonable price. Holliday Lake State Park is located at 2759 State Park Road, near Appomattox in the Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest, approximately 45 minutes from Lynchburg. Enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, and nature at Holliday Lake.
Pay an all-day parking fee and enjoy free unguarded swimming in the beach’s designated buoyed area at the lake year-round. The park rents Jon boats, canoes, single and tandem kayaks, pedal boats, and stand-up paddleboards seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Summertime fun awaits at Holliday Lake and all of the Virginia State Parks.
The beach area has nature-shaped climbing objects in the lake for the kids to enjoy during the summer. The public beach is just the right size for families with younger kids. The "Critter Hole" play area is very popular. There's also a snack bar in the summertime.
