The town of Bedford is a short 30-minute drive from Lynchburg. Filled with small town appeal, Bedford is a great place to visit anytime with kids. The National D-Day Memorial takes you on a walk back in time to the early days of US involvement in World War II.

At Bedford's Falling Creek Park, you'll find walking, hiking and mountain biking trails, playground equipment, outdoor courts, picnic areas, a fitness trail and a large Skate Park for the kids to practice their skateboarding tricks.
On your trip to Bedford, travel along the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoy the sights along the way. A favorite Parkway stop for many families is the Peaks of Otter, offering a restaurant, lodge and hiking trails for every ability.
Stop at the Bedford Visitor's Center at 816 Burks Hill Road at the intersection of Route 460 and Route 122 daily from 9-5 to pick up tourist information and information about local activities and events.
